By Chapter 26, Beloved and Sethe have swapped places, with Beloved performing as the mother and Sethe as the kid. Their role setback may just mark more openly what has been Beloved’s role all along. On a more universal level, Beloved may also view for all of the slaves who made the way thru the Atlantic. She may give expression to and exemplify the shared lifeless of all those burdened by slavery’s past and bequest.
