Answer:

14 rooms

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

There are 12 students each from grades 4 and 5.

There are 15 students each from grades 6 and 7.

The hotel books 4 students to each room.

Question asked:

How many rooms do the students need ?

Solution:

As 12 students each from grades 4 and 5, total number of students altogether,

12 + 12 = 24 students

As 15 students each from grades 6 and 7, total number of students altogether,

15 + 15 = 30 students

Total number of students from all the grades  attended a science competition = 24 + 30 = 54 students

Now, it is given that each room booked for 4 students.

Applying unitary method:

For 4 students, room booked = 1

For 1 students, room booked = \frac{1}{4}

For 54 students, room booked = \frac{1}{4}\times54

                                                   = 13.5

As number of rooms cannot be in decimals and hence 13 rooms is needed for 52 student and 1 more room will be needed for 2 students (0.5 = half of 4 students is 2 students)

Hence, total 14 rooms will be needed to booked for 54 students.

Please help , I have no idea of how to do this
Misha Larkins [42]
Hello!

The time difference between checkpoint 1 and checkpoint 2 is an hour and a half.
At checkpoint A, the total amount of miles driven is 120. At checkpoint B, the total amount of miles driven is 195.
To find the amount of miles driven between checkpoint 1 and 2, you will subtract the amount of miles at checkpoint 1 from checkpoint 2:
195-120= 75

The car drove 75 miles between 1:00pm to 2:30 pm. Because the total time between the checkpoints was an hour and a half, we can divide it by three (90 minutes total). We also need to divide the number of miles (75) by three to find an accurate answer.
90/3=30
75/3=25

The car drove 25 minutes in half an hour. Now, one hour consists of 60 minutes, so we will multiply both calculations by 2 (for the total hour and the total amount of miles driven in the hour):
30x2=60
25x2=50

The car drove 50 miles per hour between checkpoints A and B.

I hope this helps you! Have a great day!
