Alina [70]

The correct answer is - D. horse or mule carriages and steam-powered trolleys.

Prior to the 1900's the main transportation sources in the cities were the horse and mule carriages and the steam-powered trolleys. Most of the intercity transport was taken out by the horse and mule carriages which dominated the streets of the cities, they were still the easiest, most efficient, and cheapest transport. The only competition of the carriages were the steam-powered trolleys, and they were the most technologically advanced transportation for intercity transport at this period of time.

Explain one other difference in the balance of powers between the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.
lyudmila [28]

The federal government was too weak no enforce their laws and couldnt levy taxes, and only could request taxes in the aricles, which was a main reason of its failure. There was no national courts set up in the articles or national currency. Im not sure exactly what the question is asking but im assuming its talking about how powers differed between the constitution and the articles and in conclusion I would say, after independance America was a baby country who was scared of the rights being incriminated once again so the central government had very little powers.

what factors lead to a civilization's growth, and how might environmental determinism influence these factors?
damaskus [11]
Access to food, water, shelter, and all basic human needs can hinder or help the growth of a civilization. Civilizations with similar environments or climates tend to develop on similar paths (because they run into the same problems/conveniences that have to be solved by human brains, which are wired to react to certain situations in certain ways.)
