When asked about the miscommunication, the general that ordered the airstrike claimed to have never issued any order for the troops on the ground, and claimed that he was never informed about any contradictory order. Meanwhile, the commander for the ground unit that was sent in to the hideout claims he received an order directly from the US Department of Defense. I liked reading the narrative more, because I think it gives a clearer picture of what Anne was really thinking while she was in hiding. It was fun to see what hiding was like from Anne's perspective rather than from a director and actors on a stage.
