Answer:

\boxed{ \bold{ \huge{ \boxed{ \sf{ \frac{3}{4}  \:  \: or \:  \:0.75 }}}}}

Step-by-step explanation:

\sf{x -  \frac{5}{8}  =  \frac{1}{8} }

L.C.M of 1 and 8 = 8

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ \frac{x \times 8 - 5}{8}  =  \frac{1}{8} }}

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ \frac{8x - 5}{8}  =  \frac{1}{8}}}

Do cross multiplication

\longrightarrow{ \sf{8(8x - 5) = 1 \times 8}}

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x - 40 = 8}}

Move 40 to right hand side and change its sign

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x = 8 + 40}}

Add the numbers : 40 and 8

\longrightarrow{ \sf{64x = 48}}

Divide both sides by 64

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ \frac{64x}{64}  =  \frac{48}{64} }}

Calculate

\longrightarrow{ \sf{ \frac{3}{4} }}

Hope I helped!

Best regards! :D

Steps to solve:

x - 5/8 = 1/8

~Add 5/8 to both sides

x = 6/8 or x = 3/4

Best of Luck!

Determine whether each expression is equivalent to 49^2t – 0.5.
vampirchik [111]

Answer:

None of the expression are equivalent to 49^{(2t - 0.5)}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

49^{(2t - 0.5)}

Required

Find its equivalents

We start by expanding the given expression

49^{(2t - 0.5)}

Expand 49

(7^2)^{(2t - 0.5)}

7^2^{(2t - 0.5)}

Using laws of indices: (a^m)^n = a^{mn}

7^{(2*2t - 2*0.5)}

7^{(4t - 1)}

This implies that; each of the following options A,B and C must be equivalent to 49^{(2t - 0.5)} or alternatively, 7^{(4t - 1)}

A. \frac{7^{2t}}{49^{0.5}}

Using law of indices which states;

a^{mn} = (a^m)^n

Applying this law to the numerator; we have

\frac{(7^{2})^{t}}{49^{0.5}}

Expand expression in bracket

\frac{(7 * 7)^{t}}{49^{0.5}}

\frac{49^{t}}{49^{0.5}}

Also; Using law of indices which states;

\frac{a^{m}}{a^n} = a^{m-n}

\frac{49^{t}}{49^{0.5}} becomes

49^{t-0.5}}

This is not equivalent to 49^{(2t - 0.5)}

B. \frac{49^{2t}}{7^{0.5}}

Expand numerator

\frac{(7*7)^{2t}}{7^{0.5}}

\frac{(7^2)^{2t}}{7^{0.5}}

Using law of indices which states;

(a^m)^n = a^{mn}

Applying this law to the numerator; we have

\frac{7^{2*2t}}{7^{0.5}}

\frac{7^{4t}}{7^{0.5}}

Also; Using law of indices which states;

\frac{a^{m}}{a^n} = a^{m-n}

\frac{7^{4t}}{7^{0.5}} = 7^{4t - 0.5}

This is also not equivalent to 49^{(2t - 0.5)}

C. 7^{2t}\ *\ 49^{0.5}

7^{2t}\ *\ (7^2)^{0.5}

7^{2t}\ *\ 7^{2*0.5}

7^{2t}\ *\ 7^{1}

Using law of indices which states;

a^m*a^n = a^{m+n}

7^{2t+ 1}

This is also not equivalent to 49^{(2t - 0.5)}

Using the slope and the y intercept, graph the line represented by the following equation.
PtichkaEL [24]
Beforehand let me apologize for my sloppy handwriting. I'm a lefty, so please deal with me. . Anyway, the equation you listed didn't really have a x, because a linear equation is y= mx+b, and anything with x is the slope. But I did see y and a number on one side, so I'm like maybe I can get these two alone. So here's what I did:

2y + 4=0
-4 -4 I subtracted 4 on both sides. Why because you would want "y" alone.
Next,
2y= -4
Now to get "y" alone you want to divide on both sides.
2y= -4/ 2
y= -2
Now you're probably thinking "how do you graph it? There's no "x" in the equation." Well, you just graph it. Since the answer is y= -2, you go to the y axis, look for -2, and place a line to indicate that is the equation. And to make it clear, remember y is the y-intercept.

I really do hope this helps you, if not message me. I'll be happy to help, and again I'm sorry for my handwriting!
