Your company, which has a MARR of 12%, is considering the following two investment alternatives:

Business
1 answer:
mote1985 [20]3 years ago
6 0

Answer:

future worth:

project A  11,615.26

project B  12,139.18‬

It should choose project B as their future value is greater

IRR of project A: 13.54%

We should remember that the IRR is the rate at which the net value is zero thus, equals the inflow with the cash outlay

It is calculate with excel or financial calculator due to the complex of the formula.

Explanation:

Project A

We calculate the future value of the cash flow per year and cost as we are asked for future value. The salvage value is already at the end of the project life so we don't adjust it.

Revenues future value

C \times \frac{(1+r)^{time} -1}{rate} = FV\\

C 15,000

time 8

rate 0.12

15000 \times \frac{(1+0.12)^{8} -1}{0.12} = FV\\

FV $184,495.3970

Expenses future value

C \times \frac{(1+r)^{time} -1}{rate} = FV\\

C 3,000

time 10

rate 0.12

3000 \times \frac{(1+0.12)^{10} -1}{0.12} = FV\\

FV $52,646.2052

Cost future value

Principal \: (1+ r)^{time} = Amount

Principal 40,000.00

time 10.00

rate 0.12000

40000 \: (1+ 0.12)^{10} = Amount

Amount 124,233.93

Net future worth:

-124,233.93 cost - 52,646.21 expenses + 184,495.40 revenues + 4,000 salvage value

future worth 11,615.26

Project B

cost:

Principal \: (1+ r)^{time} = Amount

Principal 60,000.00

time 10.00

rate 0.12000

60000 \: (1+ 0.12)^{10} = Amount

Amount 186,350.89

expenses 52,646.21 (same as previous)

revenues

C \times \frac{(1+r)^{time} }{rate} = FV\\

C 24,000

time 7

rate 0.12

24000 \times \frac{(1+0.12)^{7} -1}{0.12} = FV\\

FV $242,136.2815

TOTAL

242,136.28 + 9,000 - 52,646.21 - 186,350.89 = 12,139.18‬

Internal rate of return of project A

we write the time and cash flow for each period.

Time Cash flow

0 -40,000

1 -3,000

2 -3,000

3 12,000

4 12,000

5 12,000

6 12,000

7 12,000

8 12,000

9 12,000

10 16,000

IRR 13.54%

Then we write on excel the function =IRR(select the cashflow)

and we got the IRR of the project

What is aggregate demand? You can gain or 100 points on this Place the following items in order of the magnitude of the effect o
kodGreya [7K]

Answer:

Aggregate demand refers to the demand for the Gross Domestic Product in a country. In other words, it is the demand for the final goods and services produced in a country within a period.

Order of effect on Aggregate Demand.

1. Development of computer-based technologies from the 1940s to now.

This will have the greatest effect on Aggregate Demand (AD) because it will lead to an increase in the long term capacity of the economy to produce goods and services thereby increasing the demand for those same goods and services.

2. State governments in the 2010s cut their budgets for teachers, infrastructure, police, and other government expenditures.

This will contribute less to AD than the one above but the effect will still be significant because government spending is a significant component of AD so reducing it will reduce AD.

3. Prices of tech stocks increase in the late 1990s as a result of a speculative bubble.

Prices of tech stocks rising will lead to more people buying these stocks thereby increasing the investment portion of AD and having a significant effect on its increase.

4. People notice prices rising and an associated decrease in purchasing power.

If people notice a decrease in purchasing power, they will begin to buy less goods and services as they cannot afford as much. This will reduce Consumption in the AD curve but will not significantly impact AD as the ones above.

5. A trade war with China in the late 2010s leads to a decrease in trade.

A trade war with China will affect the Net exports side of the AD but there will be other countries to trade with and goods will still be purchased from and sold to China in some quantity so the AD will be least affected here.

Nu Furniture has sales of $241,000, depreciation of $32,200, interest expense of $35,700, costs of $103,400, and taxes of $14,63
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

$122,963

Explanation:

NU furniture have a sales of $241,000

The depreciation is $32,200

The interest expense is $35,700

The costs is $103,400

The tax is $14,637

Therefore, the operating cash flow for the year can be calculated as follows

= Sales-costs-taxes.

= $241,000-$103,400-$14,637

= $122,963

Hence the operating cash flow for the year is $122,963

In the current year, Crimson, Inc., a calendar C corporation, has income from operations of $180,000 and operating deductions of
Sergeu [11.5K]

Answer:

The answer is: D) Crimson’s dividends received deduction is $21,000

Explanation:

The dividends received deduction (DRD) allows a company that earns dividends from another company, to deduct those earnings (dividends) from its income tax.

The three tiers of possible deductions are:

  1. If the company owns ≤20% of the second company, it can deduct 70% of the dividends received.
  2. If the company owns ˃20%  but ≤80% of the second company, it can deduct 80% of the dividends received.
  3. If the company owns ˃80% of the second company, it can deduct 100% of the dividends received.

Since Crimson owned 15% of the second company, then it can deduct 70% of the dividends it received, which equals $21,000 ($30,000 x 70%).
