<span>As far as advantages go, merchants were given more freedom and were allowed to experiment since they were not under guilds anymore. Guilds were a group of merchants who practiced their craft in a particular town. Cheap and abundant labor wasn’t restricted by regulation or rules and guidelines anymore as well. Workers however had to deal with low wages and mistreatment from employees.</span>
