I'm not sure what the question is but, I'm guessing you are trying to find out how many miles are driven per hour.

To determine how many miles are driven per hour, you would divide the total number of miles driven by the total number of hours it took to drive it.
605 ÷ 11 = 55mph

Jace's dad drove 55 miles per hour.

I hope this helps!

An aptitude test has a mean score of 80 and a standard deviation of 5. The population of scores is normally distributed. What pr
konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

2.28% of tests has scores over 90.

Step-by-step explanation:

Problems of normally distributed samples are solved using the z-score formula.

In a set with mean \mu and standard deviation \sigma, the zscore of a measure X is given by:

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

The Z-score measures how many standard deviations the measure is from the mean. After finding the Z-score, we look at the z-score table and find the p-value associated with this z-score. This p-value is the probability that the value of the measure is smaller than X, that is, the percentile of X. Subtracting 1 by the pvalue, we get the probability that the value of the measure is greater than X.

In this problem, we have that:

\mu = 80, \sigma = 5

What proportion of tests has scores over 90?

This proportion is 1 subtracted by the pvalue of Z when X = 90. So

Z = \frac{X - \mu}{\sigma}

Z = \frac{90 - 80}{5}

Z = 2

Z = 2 has a pvalue of 0.9772.

So 1-0.9772 = 0.0228 = 2.28% of tests has scores over 90.

Find the volume of the solid whose base is the circle x2+y2=25 and the cross sections perpendicular to the x-axis are triangles
ivanzaharov [21]

Triangles with height h and base b, with b=h have area \dfrac{b^2}2.

Such cross sections with the base of the triangle in the disk x^2+y^2\le25 (a disk with radius 5) have base with length

b(x)=\sqrt{25-x^2}-\left(-\sqrt{25-x^2}\right)=2\sqrt{25-x^2}

i.e. the vertical (in the x,y plane) distance between the top and bottom curves describing the circle x^2+y^2=25.

So when x=4, the cross section at that point has base

2\sqrt{25-16}=6

so that the area of the cross section would be 6^2/2 = 18.

In case it's relevant, the entire solid would have volume given by the integral

\displaystyle\int_{-5}^5\frac{b(x)^2}2\,\mathrm dx=4\int_0^5(25-x^2)\,\mathrm dx=\frac{1000}3
