8 0

Answer:

To find the result of question 8 : 2 x (2 + 2) we need to know the rules and the sequence of arithmetic mixed operation. Here the rules due to the sequence of arithmetic mixed operation.

The parenthesis symbol is always the first one to finish. If there any operation in parenthesis, we finish it first before others.

Divided symbol ( : ) and multiplication symbol ( x ) are equal. So, if we found in operation there are divided and multiplication, we do the left one first.

Plus symbol ( + ) and minus symbol ( - ) are equal. So, if we found in operation there are plus and minus, we do the left one first.

For example, 23 + (3 x 4) - 4 : 2 = ...

due to rules above we finish it step by step

23 + (3 x 4) - 4 : 2 = ...

23 + 12 - 4 : 2 = ...

23 + 12 - 2 = ...

35 - 2 = 33

the result of example question above is 33, now we do the question that's questionable

8 : 2 x (2 + 2) = ...

8 : 2 x 4 = ...

4 x 4 = 16

so, the answer of the question is 16.

8 / 2(2 + 2)

Use PEMDAS
P = parentheses
E = exponents
M = multiplication
D = division
A = addition
S = subtraction

do the parentheses first:

8 / 2 * 4

next do multiplication:

8 / 8

finally do the division:

1

So, your answer is 1.

Hope this helps, have an amazing day.

Pls help me!! I just need help on both of the following questions, a-d on each
Ymorist [56]
I'll do a and e on the first one to show you how to do it

Then See if you can do the rest

a. 6(-3)

When your multiplying or dividing with negative numbers; If one of your numbers is negative like the one above, your answer will be negative

So 6 × 3 = 18 ; but since there is a negative on the 3 your answer will be -18

e. -20 ÷ 5

same for this; 20 ÷ 5 = 4, but since the 20 is negative the answer will be -4

You do b, c, d, and f on the first question. Tell me what you get and we'll go from there

Now for the second question

I will do a and d to show you how to do this then you do the rest (I'm inserting a picture with these)

a. 4(-2 \frac{1}{3}) + 7 \frac{1}{6}
First go ahead and turn the fractions into improper fractions, this makes them a bit easier to work with. When multiplying fractions; they do not need a common denominator, all you do is multiply top by top and bottom by bottom.
However, when you add and subtract fractions you MUST have a common denominator

d. (-4.25)(2) + (-4.25)(-2)
remember from the first problem a negative times a positive gives you a negative

but when you times a negative by a negative you get a positive

Now you try b and c; let me know what you get, and we'll go from there!

Masteriza [31]

Answer:

The vertical axis should begin with 0 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertical axis must start with 0 inches to ensure accuracy for the measures of every plant since 28% of the plants in the garden are under 6 inches.

If the vertical axis begins with 6 inches or above, we can miss a lot of the gardener's data, especially the plants which are under 6 inches.

Therefore, to ensure that the graph does not mislead any measures of the plant, the vertical axis must begin with 0 inches.

If 1/6 of the pan was left and there were 2 pieces left you just need to set 1/6 equal to 2/some number, this allows you to say that 1/6=2/x --> x/6=2-->x=12. My explanation might be a little poor since this becomes fairly fundamental later on but hopefully it helps.
