This is a question that asks for a personal opinion, therefore, there is no right or wrong answer.

If you want to defend the position of incarceration, you could argue that this allows innocent people to avoid contact with criminals. It also reduces the chances of criminals influencing others. If you are against this practice, you could argue that the punishment is too strong for the crime, or that people who have been imprisoned are more likely to commit crimes again.

On the subject of treatment, if you are pro-treatment, you will most likely highlight the fact that effective treatment allows these people to reintegrate into society more successfully. If you disagree with the approach, you might cite the cost or the lack of effectiveness of such treatments.

Both. The justice system was created for a reason. Incarceration is to give the offenders time to learn in hopes that they don’t repeat offenses. But I also think that treatment should be mandatory either during or after time served.
