Answer: b.

Nuclear energy produces little air pollution.

Explanation:

Nuclear energy is the energy which is obtain from the nucleus of an atom. It can be obtain by continuous and simultaneous fission and fusion reactions. The energy is produced in the form of thermal energy. The heavy metal atom is bombarded with radiation to cause either fusion or fission. The thermal energy produced is used for the purpose of generation of electricity.

This kind of energy generation takes place in a controlled condition. As if the radiations generated in the process and the thermal energy can cause damage to the surrounding environment if get leaked. As the thermal energy and the gases produced does not release into the surrounding environment. Hence, this type of energy produces little air pollution.

The two members used in the construction of an aircraft fuselage are joined together using a 30° fish-mouth weld. Determine the
Leya [2.2K]

This question is incomplete because it lacks the required diagram of the fuselage. Please find attached to this answer the appropriate diagram.

Answer:

The average normal stress on the plane of each weld = 66.7 psi

The average shear stress on the plane of each weld = 115.5 psi

Explanation:

From the question, we are told that two members are joined together.

From the diagram we see 800lb.

Since there are 2 members = 800lb/2

= 400lb

a) The formula for average nor umal stress on the plane of each weld = Force (in Newton)/ Cross sectional area (in inches)

From the question, we are assuming that the horizontal force = 400lb

We are given an angle of 30°

Therefore, the resultant force in Newton = F sin θ

= 400 sin 30 = 200lb

Cross sectional area = A/sin θ

= 1 × 1.5/ sin 30

= 3 in²

The average normal stress on the plane of each weld is calculated as:

200lb/3 in²

= 66.7lb/in² or 66.7 psi

b) The average shear stress on the plane of each weld = Force (in Newton)/ Cross sectional area (in inches)

Resultant force =  F cos θ

= 400 cos 30 = 346.41016151lb

Approximately = 346.41lb

Crossectional area = 3 in²

The average normal stress on the plane of each weld is calculated as:

346.4lb/3 in²

= 115.47Ib/in²

Approximately = 115.5Ib/in²

Therefore,

The average normal stress on the plane of each weld = 66.7 psi

The average shear stress on the plane of each weld = 115.5 psi

perspective that our genes and environmental influences work together to determine our characteristics
topjm [15]

Environmental factors often influence traits independently of genes. Either of these effects can change the proteins that are made from a gene, which in turn affects traits.

How do environment and gene determine our personality?

Some genes increase the characteristic and others work to decrease the same characteristic-complex relationship among the various genes, as well as a variety of random factors, produce the final outcome.

Because of their genetic makeup, individuals differ in their responsiveness to the qualities of the environment. There are unique, genetically influenced reactions to particular experiences to which we are exposed.

The presence of drugs and chemicals in an organism's environment can also influence gene expression in the organism. The environment can affect morphological and physiological development whereas genes influence morphology and physiology, creating a framework within which the environment acts to shape the behavior of an individual.

Hence in this way, genes and environmental influences work together to determine our characteristics.

In a species of chickens, incomplete dominance between alleles for black (B) and white(w) feathers
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

1/2

Explanation:

This question involves a single gene coding for feather color in chickens. The black allele (B) is incompletely dominant over the white allele (W). This means that the allele B will not mask the phenotypic expression of allele W, hence, a third intermediate blue phenotype (BW) will be produced.

According to the question, if two blue chickens are crossed i.e. BW × BW, the gametes B and W will be produced by each parent. Using these gametes in a punnet square (see attached image), the following offsprings will be produced:

BB, BW and WW in the ratio 1:2:1

BB is black, BW is blue, WW is white. Hence, the probability of producing a blue chicken from this cross is 1/2.

The plasma membrane , according to the fluid-mosaic model is composed mailer of
Anit [1.1K]

Solution:

According to the accepted current theory, known as the fluid mosaic model, the plasma membrane is composed of a double layer (bilayer) of lipids, oily substances found in all cells. The fluid mosaic model was first proposed by S.J. The fluid mosaic model describes the structure of the plasma membrane as a mosaic of components —including phospholipids, cholesterol, proteins, and carbohydrates—that gives the membrane a fluid character. Plasma membranes range from 5 to 10 nm in thickness.

Thus this is the required answer.
