In "<em>Amigo Brothers" </em>by Piri Thomas, two best friends (Antonio and Felix) who are part of a poor neighbourhood in New York City share the same passion: boxing. The main conflict of this story appears when they have to fight against each other for the Golden Gloves, a title that would give them access to a professional career in the sport. With this in mind, they decide to train separatedly so as to prepare physically and psychologically, since each one of them would have to face a tremendous situation.
