To bring about radical change for its participants

Redemptive social movements are usually religious in nature and only have a limited focus. It aims to radically change an individual’s behavior thus changing the entire person. Examples of redemptive movements are fundamentalist religious movements and cults. In some religions, there is an emphasis on being “born again”. This state implies that a complete individual transformation or a radical inner change is expected from the person. Perhaps the best example would be the spread of Christianity all over the world through the work of missionaries.

Why does the Supreme Court feel that the “separate but equal” doctrine does not violate the 14th Amendment?
pshichka [43]

The Supreme Court felt that the "separate but equal" doctrine didn't violate the 14th Amendment because they believed that both blacks and whites were being treated equally despite being separate. The 14th Amendment gave American citizenship to all African Americans, this included former slaves. This means that the government must give all American citizens the same rights, equal protection, and due process.

The Brown v. Board of Education case proved that the "separate but equal" doctrine was false. This was where a young African American girl had to walk a long way to her black school, while there was a white school very close to her home. This was an obvious problem and proved that "separate but equal" was not equal at all. Eventually, this case ended segregation in public schools. The Plessy v. Ferguson case also proved this, but the Supreme Court tried to justify the "separate but equal" doctrine by saying how blacks and whites have the same equal facilities.

Which cause problems for the US military has attempted to carry out the war in Vietnam
stealth61 [152]

if you're asking what hindered the US from winning in Vietnam it was cause of multiple factors

first one and probably the biggest is that the war was unpopular back in the US most of the population found it to be a pointless war

second reason would be that the Soviets and us Chinese were training equipping and supporting the Viet Kong

third reason would be that the Viet Kong were excellent guerrilla fighters and knew the land better than the American GIs
