-1.5(4-n) + 2.8 - 1.5(4-n) + 2.8
Two ways of solving this, you can just expand and solve, or combine like terms then solve. I will combine like terms.

<span>-1.5(4-n) + 2.8 - 1.5(4-n) + 2.8
</span>(2*-1.5)(4-n) + (2*2.8)
-3(4-n) + 5.6
-3*4 + 3n + 5.6
-12 + 3n + 5.6
3n - 6.4

Which equation can be used to calculate the surface area of the triangular prism net show below?
enyata [817]

Given:

Net of a triangular prism

To find:

Which equation can be used to calculate the surface area of the triangular prism.

Solution:

Using formulas:

Area of rectangle = length × width

Area of triangle = \frac{1}{2}\times b\times h

Area of left triangle = \frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 12

Area of right triangle = \frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 12

Area of bottom = 5 × 10

Area of Middle = 12 × 10

Area of top = 13 × 10

Surface area of triangular prism:

Surface area = Area of left triangle + Area of right triangle + Area of bottom + Area of middle + Area of top

                     $=\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 10+\frac{1}{2}\times 5\times 10+5\times 10+12\times 10+13\times 10

Replace multiplication by brackets.

                     $=\frac{1}{2}(5)(10)+\frac{1}{2}(5)(10)+5( 10)+12( 10)+13( 10)

The equation can be used to calculate surface area of triangular prism is

$\frac{1}{2}(5)(10)+\frac{1}{2}(5)(10)+5( 10)+12( 10)+13( 10).

The graph of f(x)=2x^3+x^2-4x-2 is shown. How many of the roots of f(x) are rational
Alexeev081 [22]

We can one theorem to help us find rational roots of this polynomial.

2x^3 + x^2 - 4x - 2

We'll use Descartes' rule of signs.

Because there is 1 sign change, 1 of the 3 roots will be positive.

Now we can make the value of x -1 to see how many negative roots there will be.

-2  + 1 + 4 - 2

There are 2 sign changes, so we know there will be 2 negative roots.

Because of this, we should have 3 real, rational roots.
