How was tammany hall harmful to citizens of New York ? <br> (answer fast please!!!!)
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

Criticisms made by the opposition that a private society was engaging in politics resulted in a separation of Tammany Hall’s social and political functions. In 1805 the Society of St. Tammany obtained from the state legislature a charter of incorporation as a benevolent and charitable body to give relief to members and others. Politically, the Democratic Party was organized as an apparently distinct body, but the society’s sachems controlled the political mechanism and prevented hostile factions from meeting in the society’s building, Tammany Hall.

Can someone explain Matthew 18:9? 18:9 "And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for
Julli [10]
This verse means that if there is something in a person's life that causes the person to sin or sway from the will of God, the person should let it go, even if it seems difficult. The difficulty or the pain in letting go of that sin is what is compared to gouging the eye out and throwing it away. It will be very painful to gouge out your eye. So it is better to let go of that sin which is so pleasing, suffer on earth for a short time and enjoy in heaven eternally than to stay in that sin, enjoy on earth for a short time and burn in hell eternally.
