Answer:

x=18

Step-by-step explanation:

12-2/3x=x-18

12-2/3x-x=-18

12-2/3x-3/3x=-18

12-5/3x=-18

5/3x=12-(-18)

5/3x=12+18

5/3x=30

x=30/(5/3)

x=(30/1)(3/5)

x=90/5

x=18

Answer:

<h2>x = 18</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

12-\dfrac{2}{3}x=x-18\qquad\text{subtract 12 from both sides}\\\\12-12-\dfrac{2}{3}x=x-18-12\\\\-\dfrac{2}{3}x=x-30\qquad\text{multiply both sides by 3}\\\\3\!\!\!\!\diagup\cdot\left(-\dfrac{2}{3\!\!\!\!\diagup_1}x\right)=3\cdot x-3\cdot30\\\\-2x=3x-90\qquad\text{subtract}\ 3x\ \text{from both sides}\\\\-2x-3x=3x-3x-90\\\\-5x=-90\qquad\text{divide both sides by (-5)}\\\\\dfrac{-5x}{-5}=\dfrac{-90}{-5}\\\\x=18

Pepe's pizza makes 52 pizza crusts the first week and 180 pizza crusts each subsequent week. Dianne's Delicatessen makes 26 pizz
Paladinen [302]
<span>Let pn  = The total number of pizza crusts </span>made by the end of the nth week

For Pepe's Pizza:
Pn + 52 + 180n

For Diannes's
Pn = 25 + 90n

<span>The total number of pizza crusts made by Pep's Pizza equals twice the total number of pizza crusts made by Dianne's Delicatessen when:
52 + 180n = 2 (26 + 90n)
52 + 180n = 52 + 180n

</span>This equation is satisfied for any value of n, so Pepe's always makes twice as much as Dianne's

Create the equation used to graph this graph:
Nuetrik [128]

Answer:

(y+4)^2=-4(x-2)  or  x=-\frac{1}{4}(y+4)^2+2

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The general equation of a horizontal parabola open to the left is equal to

(y-k)^2=-4p(x-h)

where

(h,k) is the vertex of the parabola

p is the focal distance (distance from the vertex to the focus)

In this problem we have

The vertex is the point (2,-4)

so

(h,k)=(2,-4)

The Focus is the point F(1,-4)

so

the focal distance p=2-1=1 ---> distance from the vertex to the focus

substitute in the formula

(y+4)^2=-4(1)(x-2)

(y+4)^2=-4(x-2)

x=-\frac{1}{4}(y+4)^2+2
