When the body dehydrtaed then the control center of the body releases hormone for reabsorption of water during urine formation. This is an example of positive feedback mechanism.

When there is enough water in the body then this mechanism stops. This is known as the negative feedback mechanism.

This can be defined as the decrease in function, in response to some external stimuli. This feedback is used to stabilize the system.

The whole process can be referred as homeostasis.
