Which summary of the passage is the most accurate? Cassius says that it is a shame that Brutus does not look in the mirror often

enough to see how handsome he is. Cassius explains that he laments that Brutus does not have “such mirrors as will turn your hidden worthiness into your eye,” for if he did, he would learn of his hidden talents. Then Cassius says that he has heard many respected men in Rome speaking of Brutus while they grumble about the current government’s problems. Cassius says that it is too bad Brutus cannot see his hidden greatness and that he has heard many nobles speak of Brutus when complaining about the current government’s problems. Cassius tell Brutus that he should take Caesar’s job, because he has hidden talents and is respected by many.

Which word could best replace the word vigilant without changing the overall meaning of the passage
pogonyaev

In order to answer this correctly, you must know the meaning of vigilant (keeping careful watch for impending danger) as well as the meanings of all the choices given.  Which two words are similar in meaning?  When you have that answer, take out the word vigilant, and put the new word in its place.  Does it still make sense?  If so, you most likely have the correct answer.

She was pulling black veins out of the backs of fleshy prawns.
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

Uses precise language to describe what Tan saw.

Explanation:

The short narrative essay "Fish Cheeks" by Amy Tan recounts the Christmas Eve dinner that her family had arranged with the minister's family in their home. Being a Chinese in America, Amy recounts how she was left anxious about inviting the boy who's her crush and his family over for dinner and worries that he might think them inferior.

The given line from the short essay is Amy describing what she saw when her mother was preparing for the dinner. Her mother's act of removing <em>"black veins out of the backs of fleshy prawns"</em> presents <u>the use of precise language that describes what she saw her mother do</u>.

Thus, the correct answer is the first option.
