The modern United States uses substantial amounts of mined minerals every year. The largest category of mined products we use is
Fiesta28 [93]

The answer Is feldspar

it is a  rock-forming mineral  which has particular importance in the glass and ceramics industries since it works as a fluxing agent. This means that feldspar reduces the melting temperature of quartz, consequently helping to control the viscosity of glass. Moreover, this rock-forming mineral is  one of the most common minerals in existence, forming approximately 60% of earth’s terrestrial rocks. Finally, each year about 600,000 tons of feldspar is mined in the United States from quarries in South Dakota, Oklahoma, Virginia, California, North Carolina, and Idaho. Besides this, vast deposits of felspar exist throughout the world, but the greatest challenge remains extracting and transporting the minerals to the point of consumption.

A group of statistics students decided to conduct a survey at their university to find the average (mean) amount of time student
Solnce55 [7]

Answer: 240

Formula:

n = [(z-value * sd)/E]^2

where n = sample size,

z-value will be 2.58 using a z-table to represent the 99% confidence interval

sd(standard deviation) = 3

E = 0.5

Substituting the parameters into the formula n = [(z-value * sd)/E]^2, we have,

n = [(2.58 ×3) ÷ 0.5]²

n = 239.63 approximately 240.

Define and explain the purpose of the Virginia and Kentucky Resolution in response to the Alien/Sedition Acts
Viktor [21]

The 1798 Alien and Sedition Acts were a series of laws passed by Congress and signed into law by President Adams. These Alien laws included the ability to new powers to deport immigrants and making it harder for new immigrants to vote (raising the time for residence from 5 years to 14 years). The Sedition Act prohibited public opposition to the federal government. Violators could face fines and/or imprisonment for writing, uttering, printing, or publishing false or malicious writing against the government.

The purpose of the Virginia and Kentucky Resolution (1798/1799) were political statements drafted by Kentucky and Virginia legislatures condemning the Alien and Sedition Acts as unconstitutional. The Kentucky Resolution declared that states individually have the power to declare federal laws unconstitutional. The Virginia Acts assert that states have the power to interpose unconstitutional laws.
