I have 7 different calculus textbooks and 4 different number theory text books. In how many ways can I place the 11 text books o

n a bookshelf, in a row, if there must be a number theory text book in the middle, and there must be a calculus textbook at each end.

There are 7 ways to choose the calculus textbook at one end, then 6 ways to choose the calculus textbook at the other end.  Then there are 9 ways to choose the second textbook, 8 ways to choose the third textbook, and so on.  But then there are 4 ways to choose the number theory textbook, so there are 7*6*9!*4 = 60963840 ways that work.

The area of a rectangle is 490490 in squaredin2. the ratio of the length to the width is 5 : 25:2. find the length and the width
Arlecino [84]
Let the width be 2w. Then the lenght is 5w. So:
(2w)(5w)=490
10w²=490
w²=49
w=±7
So, 2w=width=14 in; and 5w=length=35 in

EXPLANATION?????
crimeas [40]

Answer:

Hello! answer: x = 19

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a supplementary angle! So it will add up to 180 degrees 180 - 123 = 57 so we know something multiplied by 3 will equal 57 and 19 × 3 = 57 so x = 19 Hope this is a good explanation!

A supply company manufactures copy machines. The unit cost C (the cost in dollars to make each copy machine) depends on the numb
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

  $9327

Step-by-step explanation:

Apparently, the cost function is supposed to be ...

  C(x) = 0.4x^2 -112x +17167

This can be rewritten to vertex form as ...

  C(x) = 0.4(x^2 -280) +17167

  C(x) = 0.4(x -140)^2 +17167 -0.4(19600)

  C(x) = 0.4(x -140)^2 +9327

The vertex of the cost function is ...

  (x, C(x)) = (140, 9327)

The minimum unit cost is $9327.

_____

<em>Comment on the question</em>

You found the number of units that result in minimum cost (140 units), but you have to evaluate C(140) to find the minimum unit cost.
