The correct answer is C) Greece is near the Eurasian and African plates, which can cause earthquakes.

The ancient Greeks believed that Poseidon, the god of the sea, caused the earth to shake when he was angry. The geographical factor that MOST LIKELY caused the earth to shake was the following: Greece is near the Eurasian and African plates, which can cause earthquakes.

The real issue is that Greece and its many islands are located in a high seismically region of the planet. Many fault lines cross this region causing mild earthquakes but Greece has to be prepared for higher intensity earthquakes. In the past, ancient Greeks believed that it was the fury of Poseidon that caused these telluric movements because Greeks truly believed in the power of the Gods in Mount Olympus.

Where did most Americans the flew planes in WWI train at
garik1379 [7]

Answer:

When the United States entered World War I, the exhausted British and French forces wanted American troops in the trenches of the Western Front as soon as possible. By 1917, aerial warfare was also considered key to the success of the ground forces, and in May 1917, The French, in particular, asked the Americans to also bolster Allied air power. The French wanted the Americans to supply 5,000 pilots and planes, along with 50,000 mechanics to supplement the French and British air forces already in combat.

The training system of the Signal Corps at that time would simply not be capable of producing such numbers. It was decided to establish a system, similar to the British training program of a ground school, then a primary flight program, then a specialized program to train new pilots in the three basic areas that had been developed by the French and British air forces, pursuit, bombardment and observation.

How did European nations compete for power in the years before World War I?
Korolek [52]
Europeans competed for power either through acquisition of colonies or building up its industries. When their industries were strong, they would strengthen their armies as well.  If that was not enough they would form alliances with other countries to protect their interest.
