What you would do is simply plug in 8 where y is and solve.
5(8)=3478-3c -Times 5 by 8
40=3478-3c  -Add 3c to the opposite side of the equal sign
40+3c=3478  -Subtract 40 from the opposite side of the equal sign
3c=3438  -Divide equation by 3
 c=1146

Hope this helps! :)

Your cousin is 8 years older than your brother. Three years ago, your cousin was twice as old as your brother. How old is your c
hammer [34]
Your brother is now 11. If your brother is 3, you put '8+x'=x+5 to get your cousins age. Once you have x+5, set it equal to 2(x-3) and solve that. You should get x+5=2x-6 and you get x=11. You add 8 to get your cousins age. So your brother is 11 and your cousin is 19.

Given that exactly two of the six rolls resulted in a 1, find the probability that the first roll resulted in a 1. Note: Your an
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

1/3 or 0.333

Step-by-step explanation:

If we know that exactly 2 of the 6 rolls resulted in a 1. Then the number of ways to arrange the two 1s into 6 slots is

C(6,2) = \frac{6!}{(6-2)!2!} = \frac{6*5}{2} = 15 ways

Of these 15 ways, some of them have 1 at the 1 slot.

The number of ways to arrange the two 1s so that one 1 is in the 1st slot is 5. Because the 2nd 1 is in any of the other 5 slots.

Therefore,  the probability that the first roll resulted in a 1,given that exactly two of the six rolls resulted in a 1 is

5 / 15 = 1/3 or 0.333

The equation d=m/v. is m-d=v an equivalent equation?
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

They are not equivalent equations

Step-by-step explanation:

d=m/v

Multiply each side by v

d * v = m/v *v

dv = m

Divide each side by d

dv/d = m/d

v = m/d

This is not the same as v = m-d

They are not equivalent equations
