If she starts from page 1 then after time 't' she will be at the page = (t + 1)

Similarly, if Emma takes 3 minutes to read the amount of pages = 1

Then she can read amount of pages in t minutes = \frac{t}{3}

If Emma starts from page 5 then after t minutes she will be at the page = (\frac{t}{3}+5)

If both have read the same amount of pages then,

(t+1)=\frac{t}{3}+5

t-\frac{t}{3}=5-1

\frac{2t}{3}=4

t = 6 minutes

Therefore, it will take 6 minutes by Ashley and Emma to read the same amount of pages.
