Economic sanctions on natural persons, businesses and organizations are some of the possibilities with which those who do not protect seas and oceans can be punished.  

Another way that this practice can be prohibited, is through laws that sanction with days of cleanliness, or even with imprisonment those who participate in this crime.  

However, common sense, i.e. the contribution of all the inhabitants of a community to the protection of the seas, is essential.
