Answer:

Negative credit card balance means you owe money from the financial Institution , which is represented by Negative Integer.

Integer={-------,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,......}

          =Set of Positive Natural numbers ,Natural numbers having Negative sign behind it and Zero included in this set of numbers.

Suppose You owe $2500 from the bank, which means credit card shows negative balance if represented in terms of integers it will be = -2500

Absolute value of any integer is positive.

|x|=|-x|=x

|-2500|=2500

If Amount owed is $ A, Represented in terms of Integer= -A

Absolute Value of |-A|=A

What are the solution(s) of -3(x - 1) = x - 5?
O-5 and 3
O-3
O1 and 5
O 2
andre [41]

Answer:

x = 2

General Formulas and Concepts:

Pre-Algebra

  • Order of Operations: BPEMDAS
  • Equality Properties

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define equation

-3(x - 1) = x - 5

Step 2: Solve for x

  1. Distribute -3:                         -3x + 3 = x - 5
  2. Add 3x to both sides:           3 = 4x - 5
  3. Add 5 to both sides:             8 = 4x
  4. Divide 4 on both sides:        2 = x
  5. Rewrite:                                 x = 2

Step 3: Check

Plug in x to verify it's a solution.

  1. Substitute:                    -3(2 - 1) = 2 - 5
  2. Subtract:                       -3(1) = -3
  3. Multiply:                        -3 = -3

Here we see that -3 does indeed equal -3.

∴ x = 2 is a solution of the equation.
