The correct answer is B: looking inward to find the true self).

In almost all literatures, modernism was a trend that at least appeared, with some common features. It started as the need to go against classical standards and the plots of romanticism but it was infused with meaning. One of the most important axes of modernism is subjectivity. There is no objective reality, or at least it is always subject to interpretation. Also, the modern world can be overwhelmingly fast and distanced. In this context, one needs to do some introspection to know himself.

Why did Christie’s novel 1926 The murder of roger Ackroyd receive so much criticism
slamgirl [31]

Considered by many to be Christie’s masterpiece, the novel is nonetheless controversial for it’s stunning ending. Christie admitted she got the idea for the ending from her brother-in-law, James Watts, who mused on a detective novel in which the criminal turns out to be the “Dr. Watson” character, referring to Watson’s position in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series as the companion and chronicler of the brilliant detective.
