In the trapezoid below, EF is parallel to BC. If ED = 35, BC = 63, DC = 28,
iren2701 [21]

EF and BC in the trapezoid below are parallel. if ED=35, BC=63, and DC=28

Find the length of BD if EF = 45. Not all figures are rendered to scale.

A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel. It can have right angles (a right trapezoid), and it can have congruent sides (isosceles), but those are not required.

The base angles and the diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid are equal. The intersection point of the diagonals is collinear to the midpoints of the two opposite sides. Opposite sides of an isosceles trapezoid are of the same length or congruent to each other.

Answer:

3x +-4

Step-by-step explanation:

well since it is linear functions you would want the Mx+B equation to be present and since you have to find rise over run you would get 3/1 which is just 3 translated giving you a slope of 3 and your y-intercept is your B so in forth giving you the answer of 3x+ -4

Suppose a ski jumper is 2,650 feet from the base of a ski jump and looks up to the top at an angle of elevation of 26 degrees. A
yuradex [85]
We can draw a right triangle to easily visualize the given problem. Since the ski jumper is 2650 ft from the base of the ski jump, we can consider this as one of the right triangle's legs.

What we're looking for is the height of the ski jump or the other leg of the right triangle. Since the ski jumper looks up at an angle of elevation of 26°, we can use the tangent function to find the missing height. You may refer to the image below to better understand the problem.

Recall that tanθ = (opposite side facing the angle)/(side adjacent to the angle). For this case, we have

\tan26= \frac{x}{2650}\\2650(\tan26) = x\\x \approx1292.49

Hence, the height of the ski jump (rounded off the nearest whole foot) is 1292 feet.
