Old age homes are one of the options for families that can no longer make time to take care of the elders in the family. Old age homes may provide convenience to some families but it will take away the real chance to reconnect and bond with the elders therefore, old age homes should only be optional and is not advisable.

Introduction for global warming
kozerog [31]

Global Warming

Global warming is the long-term rise of temperatures in Earth's climate. Global warming is caused mostly by increasing pollution. The pollution, whether from nonrenewable energy sources, farming, or deforestation is sending carbon and other greenhouse gases into the environment. The gases are part of the greenhouse effect, which traps the warmth from the sun in the earth. Global warming will cause melting of glaciers and ice sheets which will rise ocean water levels, flooding many coastal areas and cities. That is only one problem of global warming. Global warming is on the rise and the effects are very dangerous.

Which best explains the writer’s use of punctuation in the sentence? the writer correctly uses parentheses to de-emphasize a non
r-ruslan [8.4K]

The writer correctly used parentheses to de-emphasize a non-restrictive element in the sentence, as shown in the first answer option.

What is a non-restrictive element?

 • It is a group of words added to the sentence.
 • It is the group of words that can be excluded from the sentence without changing their meaning.
 • It is the group of words that explain or extend the meaning of a term.

Non-restrictive elements are usually separated from sentences by commas, but this separation can also be done with parentheses, giving greater evidence to the element.

The above question is incomplete. The complete question is in the attached image.
