Sponges are able to reproduce both sexually using gametes and asexually by budding. Even though sponges are hermaphroditic, individuals will only make one type of gamete at a time. There are two forms of asexual reproduction that sponges can go through: external budding and internal budding.

Sponges reproduce sexually, too. Sponges do not have separate sexes-a single sponge forms eggs at one time of the year and sperm at a different time. At any one time of the year, some sponges are producing eggs and others are producing sperm.

The volume of water passing through a sponge can be enormous, up to 20,000 times its volume in a single 24 hour period.

Sponges reproduce by both asexual and sexual means. Most poriferans that reproduce by sexual means are hermaphroditic and produce eggs and sperm at different times. Sperm are frequently "broadcast" into the water column. ... Some sponges release their larvae, where others retain them for some time.

This is false for a number of reasons. While LH (which stands for Leutinizing Hormone) is released by the anterior pituitary gland and can be present in both females and males, it play a more predominant role in females. Working closely with FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) a surge in LH begins the process of ovulation and the development of the Corpeus Leuteum.

In Males it is used both for the production of sperm but to stimulate the production of testosterone.

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of a cell. This is because most of the ATP production used by various systems in their operation is produced by mitochondria. A chemical called NADH is produced in the mitochondrial matrix through the Krebs cycle. The enzymes embedded in the mitochondrial membrane use this chemical to produce Adenosine Triphosphate, generally known as ATP.

Macrophages are phagocytic white blood cells involved in engulfing and killing pathogens. They are involved in the innate immune response of the body. Lysosomes have specialized enzymes that can kill these pathogens.

Muscle cells need to contract or expand for which they require energy. Thus, they have abundant mitochondria. Whereas, the macrophages have abundant lysosomes to help them kill disease-causing pathogens like a virus or bacteria.
