It started off with a few arrests as will be given here but then the authorities were really put in a precarious situation.

This was because the goal set by the local campaign was to attack the system of segregation as a whole during Birmingham's Easter season which involved  a lot of business.

This imminent laws made the government unable to ploy force at large.
