The Native Americans supported the British in the American revolution because in this period there was unrest among the natives and the colonies due to the land which American settlers were taking away from the natives.

The British agreed to defend native lands from encroaching settlers. One of the famous Native American was  Joseph Brant, a leader of the Mohawk tribe also known as Thayendanegea who helped the British soldiers in the war.
