Shortly after 10 p.m. on April 14, 1865, actor John Wilkes Booth entered the presidential box at Ford's Theatre in Washington D.C., and fatally shot President Abraham Lincoln. As Lincoln slumped forward in his seat, Booth leapt onto the stage and escaped through the back door. A doctor in the audience rushed over to examine the paralyzed president. Lincoln was then carried across the street to Petersen's Boarding House, where he died early the next morning.

Using complete sentences, describe the four basic responsibilities of county governments: record keeping, law enforcement, elect
VLD [36.1K]

The government keeps records so we can know, when we need, about the history of our country and its individuals.

Our government also ensures law enforcement by hiring the right people to represent and keep the law and the structures of our society running.

The government also assures us that we can change governors or keep them by voting if we are satisfied or unsatisfied with them.

The government also has the obligation to provide public services to make our lives and specially the lives of the less fortunate easier with the tax money that we pay with our hard work.
