Given:
uniforms in a package of 8.
127 people with 3 uniforms each.

127 x 3 = 381 uniforms

381 ÷ 8 = 47.625 ⇒ 48 packages

The store will need to order 48 packages of uniforms to fulfill the uniform requirement of 127 people. There will also be 3 uniforms left in excess of the 48 packages.

48 * 8 = 384
384 - 381 = 3 excess uniform

A movie theater sold 800 tickets and made $4400 in one night. If an adult ticket costs $8 and a children's ticket costs $4, how
zhenek [66]
Let x = adult tickets
Let y = children's tickets

x + y = 800
8x + 4y = 4,400

From the first eq, x = 800 - y, plug this in to the second eq
8(800-y) + 4y = 4,400
6400 - 8y + 4y = 4,400
2000 = 4y
500 = y

x = 800 - 500
x = 300

300 adult tickets were sold.

I need to know the equations
dem82 [27]
Let l, t, b represent the numbers of lions, tigers, bears, respectively.

2l +3t +3b = 156 . . . . . . . 156 meals per day are supplied
l +t = 3b . . . . . . . . . . . . . . there are 3 times as many great cats as bears
l +t +b = 68 . . . . . . . . . . . there are a total of 68 animals

_____
The last 2 equations tell you
.. 4b = 68
.. b = 17
Subtracting 3 times the last equation from the first gives
.. -l = -48
There are 48 lions, 3 tigers, and 17 bears.
