Before the U.S. invaded Grenada, it asked the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States to make a formal request for America's intervention. Since Reagan had already decided to invade, what was the point to his asking to begin with?

According to international law, an invasion into another country is a straight violation of that country's sovereignty. Although some other countries supported this invasion, it would have been accepted as rightful if it was a requested intervention instead of a clear invasion.
