This statement is true. The original wheels were not actually used for
transportation as they are today, but rather there is actually evidence
they were created in Mespotamia in around 3500 B.C. to be used for
creating pottery. The wheel in its current form was not actually
invented until some 300 years later when they began to be used as part
of chariots.
