Answer-

The equation for a horizontal plane through the point (−4,0,−3) is z = -3

Solution-

Let's assume n is the normal vector for the horizontal plane < 0, 0, 1 > .

The co-ordinate of the point is (-4, 0, -3)

The general equation of a plane is -

n \cdot = 0

\Rightarrow \cdot \ = 0

\Rightarrow 0(x+4)+0(y)+1(z+3)=0

\Rightarrow z=-3

∴ The equation for a horizontal plane through the point (−4,0,−3) is z= -3

If f(x) = - 4x and g(x)= 5x?, find
a. (f+g)(x)
b.(-9)(x)
C. (fog)(x)
o-na [289]

a) (f+g)(x) = f(x) + g(x) = -4x + 5x = x

b) -9(x) = -9x? I have no idea what this means.

c) (f o g)(x) = (f(g(x)) = f(5x) = -4 (5x) = -20x

Select all that apply. Which of the following are true? Fractions and ratios cannot have zero in the denominator. Fractions and
maw [93]

Answer:

True statements:

1. Fractions and ratios cannot have zero in the denominator.

3. Some fractions and ratios can be written as mixed numbers. Fractions and ratios can be simplified the same way.

Step-by-step explanation:

1. Fractions and ratios cannot have zero in the denominator: True.

Reason- If the denominator in any fraction /ratio is zero, then it means the whole fraction will be equal to infinity (not-defined value)

2. Fractions and ratios are different names for the same thing. False

Reason- A fraction represents a number from the whole of something, in which the denominator represents the total number of equal parts of the whole. But, a ratio represents a comparison between two quantities.

3. Some fractions and ratios can be written as mixed numbers. Fractions and ratios can be simplified the same way. True

Reason-The simplification method can be same but these two are not same quantities.
