I think to protect oneself from possible blood borne pathogen transmission when providing care it is important to use PPE such as disposable gloves, breathing barrier or mask. PPE is an abbreviation for personal protective equipment; they are equipment that will protect the user against health or safety risks at work. They may include items such as safety helmets, gloves, eye protection, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear and safety harnesses.
