How do I find the x value
inna [77]
Okay so you can find the angle by working out the angle in the top right corner of the backwards 'Z' shape. Because there's 180 degrees in a straight line, that top right angle is 180 - 132 = 48.

Now we know that the top right angle is 48, so the angle you're looking for is 48, because they're alternate angles.

That means 3x + 9 = 48. You can find x by rearranging.

3x + 9 = 48
3x = 48 - 9
3x = 39
x = 13.

x is equal to 13.

How do igneous rocks change into sedimentary rocks?
Alinara [238K]

The igneous rocks are the basic material for the formation of the two other rocks types, the sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. These rocks are the first that form. They form from the magma that has cooled inside the crust, or by the lava flows on the surface. Over time, the weathering and erosion start to break them apart little by little, creating sediments from them. These sediments are the founding block for the formation of the sedimentary rocks. Once these sediments are exposed to certain temperatures and pressures they start to become compact again, which is made possible through the cementation process that keeps them together. As more and more sediments are merged together, the sedimentary rocks are formed, and they can come in multiple different types, sizes, shapes, as well as compositions, and structures.

A scientist collects a core sample from 60 km deep in Earth.
maria [59]
Answer : Option C, The sample will mainly consist of granite.

Explanation:

Sample collected from was continental crust (a part crust) as the samples were from 60 km deep. Continental crust ranges from 30 km to 70 km and this layer is mainly includes granite. This continental crusts is mainly responsible for formation of distinct land-forms like continents.
Statement A ,B and D informs us about the state and temperature of metals(iron) in core that is inner most layer of the earth.

3) What is the composition, in atom percent and in weight percent, of an alloy that contains 33 g Cu and 47 g Zn?
Marat540 [252]

Answer: composition in weight percent = 41.25% Cu and 58.75% Zn

Composition in Atom percent = 40.54% Cu and 59.46% Zn

Explanation:

Starting with the composition in weight percent.

Let Mcu= mass of cu and Mzn= mass of zn

%W= weight percent

%Wcu = (Mcu/(Mcu + Mzn)) × 100%

By substituting the values

%Wcu = (33/(33+47)) × 100%

%Wcu = (33/80) × 100%

%Wcu = 41.25%

%Wzn = (Mzn/(Mcu + Mzn)) × 100%

= 47/80 × 100%

%Wzn = 58.75%

Then we can proceed to composition in atom percent

Atomic mass of Cu= Ac = 63.5g/mol

For zn = Az = 65.4g/mol

Atom percent cu = {(%Wcu×Ac)/[(%Wcu×Ac)+(%Wzn×Az)]} × 100%

Substituting the values

= {2619.375/6461.625}×100%

=40.54% Cu

Atom percent zn = {(%Wzn×Az)/[(%Wcu×Ac)+(%Wzn×Az)]} × 100%

={3842.25/6461.625}×100%

=59.46% Zn

What percentage of casualties were civilians in World War I? What about World War II?
ira [324]

Answer:

World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history in terms of total dead, with some 75 million people casualties including military and civilians, or around 3% of the world's population at the time. Many civilians died because of deliberate genocide, massacres, mass-bombings, disease, and starvation.

Explanation:

because the Deaths directly caused by the war (including military and civilians fatalities) are estimated at 50–56 million, with an additional estimated 19–28 million deaths from war-related disease and famine. Civilian deaths totaled 50–55 million.
