David keeps records of his monthly earnings. Last month he worked 120 hours and earned $2700. This month he worked 100 hours and

earned $2300. Which equation could you use to find f(x), the amount he would earn at this rate if he worked x hours?
f(x)=120x+400

f(x)=400x

f(x)=100x+300

f(x)=20x+300

and tell me why it's the answer.... please. ^-^"

F(x) = 20x+300
you sub in the x values (120 hours and 100 hours) for each equation
the only one they both work for is the last one
f(x) = 20x + 300
f(100) = (20 * 100) + 300 = 2000 + 300 = 2300

f(120) = (20 * 120) + 300 = 2400 + 300 = 2700

Substitute x in the equations for numbers of hours worked, and you should look for the one that gets the right amount of money.

If you use 120 hours, you should look for the equation that gives you the answer of 2700:

f(x)=120x+400
120(120) + 400 =14800

f(x)=400x
400(120) = 48000

f(x)=100x+300
100(120) + 300 =12300

f(x)=20x+300
20(120) + 300 = 2700

Just to check, use the other number of hours: 100 hours.. You should expect to see an answer of 2300:
f(x)=20x+300
20(100) + 300 = 2300

the equation you want is f(x)=20x+300

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Lines l and m are the parallel lines and 't' is a transversal line,

Therefore, ∠1 ≅ ∠5 [Corresponding angle postulate]

∠5 ≅ ∠7 [Vertical angles theorem]

∠1 ≅ ∠7 [Transitive property]

Therefore, ∠1 ≅ ∠7 [Alternate exterior angles theorem]

What is the value of the variable -38 = 2b + 25 - (-7b)
ddd [48]
The variable in this equation is b, therefore we have to calculate the value of b.

-38=2b+25-(-7b)
-38=2b+25+7b
2b+7b=-38-25
9b=-63
b=-63/9
b=-7

Answer: the value of the variable is b=-7

We can check it out this answer:
-38=2b+25-(-7b)
-38=2(-7)+25-(-7(-7))
-38=-14+25-49
-38=-38

Hi! Does any one know how to do proportions? If so can you please help me out with these 2 problems? please show work on how you
Nataly [62]
Answers:

1.) 18 lemons
2.) 80 minutes

Explanation:

Porportions are a lot like fractions. For the first question, you can make the fraction 6/8, or 3/4 simplified. This means that for every 8 cups of water, you need 6 lemons.

Then, to find the amount of lemons you need if you have 24 cups of water, you need to think about what×8= 24. If we divide 24 by 8, we get 3, so if we multiply our fraction by 3/3, we should get the answer.

If we do 6/8 × 3/3, we get 18/24. This means that we need 18 lemons if we were to use 24 cups of water.

For the next question, our fraction 15/60, for 15 cakes baked in 60 minutes. Now we need to divide 20 cakes by 15.

This question is a little different from the first one because there will be a decimal involved. If we do 20/15, we get 1⅓. This means that this time, we will multiply 15/60 by (1⅓)/(1⅓).

If we multiply 60 by 1⅓, we get 80, which is the number of minutes needed to bake 20 cakes.

Hope this helps :)
