In y - y1 = m(x - x1) form, the slope will be in the m position. So in ur equation, which is in that form, the number in the m position (the slope) is 5/2. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. To find the negative reciprocal, u flip the original slope and change the sign. So with our slope of 5/2.....we flip it making it 2/5....we change the sign making it -2/5. So our perpendicular line will have a slope of -2/5.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -2/5
(-7,8)....x = -7 and y = 8
now we sub into the formula and find b, the y int
8 = -2/5(-7) + b
8 = 14/5 + b
8 - 14/5 = b
40/5 - 14/5 = b
26/5 = b
so ur perpendicular equation is : y = -2/5x + 26/5 <==

wlad13 [49]

Answer

Find out the what fraction of the sandcastle did they build together .

To prove

Let us assume that the fraction of the sandcastle  they build together be x .

As given

Beatrice\ built\ about\ \frac{1}{3}\ of\ a\ sandcastle.

Linda\ built\ \frac{4}{7}\ of\ the\ same\ castle.

Than the equation becomes

x = \frac{1}{3} +\frac{4}{7}

L.C .M of (3,7) = 21

solving

x = \frac{7 + 3\times4}{21}

x = \frac{19}{21}

Therefore the fraction of the sandcastle did they build together be

x = \frac{19}{21}

Hence proved

sharia has a full time job and earns 475$ each week but she starts looking for ways to increase her weekly earnings . sharia fin
Arlecino [84]

Answer:

12 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Full time job:

Earning per week = $475

Part time job :

Earning per hour = $11

Number of working hours per week at per time job to increase weekly earning to atleast $600 ;

Let number of hours = h

Full time earning + earning per hour * (number of hours) ≥ 600

$475 + ($11 * h) ≥ 600

$475 + $11h ≥ 600

11h ≥ 600 - 475

11h ≥ 125

h ≥ 125 / 11

h ≥ 11.36

Hence, sharia will need to work for 12 hours per week

4x-5y=0<br> 8x+5y=-60 <br> what is the answer by substitution or elimination?
yuradex [85]
The answer is -5, -5 added by 5 cancels each other out. Then when you add 4x + 8x, you get 12x. So when you do 12x= -60, you get -5.
