HIPAA ensures that Protected Health Information (PHI) of any individual remains protected  and confidential in the process of medical transcription.

HIPAA has a Privacy Rule the defines a set of national standards for protection and disclosure of certain types of individual health information, called protected health information or PHI.

This is  where medical transcriptionists must especially be key on. They will be entrusted with sensitive patient data in the course of their work. They  have a legal, moral and ethical duty to protect this data. If PHI  gets out in a manner not specified by the Privacy Rule, then this will be deemed as violation of the Rule and legal action will be taken.

A Romberg's neuroma causes damage to the nerve around the metatarsophalangeal joint between the ball of the foot and the toes
Volgvan

Answer:

False

Explanation:

It is known as Morton's neuroma and not Romberg's. Morton's neuroma is the thickening of a nerve tissue that can develop in different parts of the body.

Morton's Neuroma, appears at the base of the third and fourth fingers. It is sometimes called intermetatarsal neuroma and is located at the base of the foot, between the metatarsal bones. Neuromas may also appear in other areas of the foot. Compression and irritation of this nerve causes thickening or dilation. This compression causes nerve swelling which can eventually lead to permanent damage to the nerve.

Anything that causes nerve compression or irritation can lead to a neuroma. One of the most common causes is the use of narrow-toed shoes, or high heels that push the fingers against the tip of it.
