What is the biggest difference between life course theory, on the one hand, and functionalist and conflict theories, on the othe
SpyIntel [72]

Answer:

The biggest difference between the life course theory and conflict theory is that the life course theory seeks to understand the variables that shaped one's life from birth to his time of death while the conflict theory was suggested by Karl Mark and he claims that man is in a state of actual conflict because of limited resources that are available.

Explanation:

The Life course theory was actually formulated in the 1960's for analyzing people's live within structural confines of society and culture.

the conflict theory was formulated by the great Karl Mark and he claimed that social order is maintained by domination and power, rather than consensus and conformity.

Explain how prejudice and stereotypes can lead to conflict and make it hard to get to know someone
Anarel [89]

-Prejudice is like judging someone for what race they are, what religion they believe in, etc.

-Stereotypes are common ideas known about a general group, and are often used to describe individuals from the group although they are not like what the stereotypical ___ would be like.

-This makes it hard for people to get to know someone because when people first meet one another, the first thing is to look at the person. By just what the person sees, they could start having biased thoughts about the person. Because stereotypical ideas as spread out and known by everyone, you could begin to place the people you meet into separate categories with your definition of what they are, when really, they aren't really what people hear about.

Short-

-This can make it hard to get to know someone because your biased ideas about a person you have never met can block you from actually getting to know them.

-This can also lead to conflict because there are things like bullying, where a group teams up against another for simply being "different".
