There is no denial that more people read now but they need to be taught how to read critically and challenge the classic tropes, but not by enacting newer tropes, for instance I am yet to see a prodigalson story emphasising and redeeming the older brother.
The government cannot have a say on cultural matters, the max they can do is help promote new artists.
