President Obama is focusing on two main points in this speech: lowering the national debt and focusing spending, specially on education. Obama believes that investing in education for the future will keep the economy strong in the future. Citizens need to understand government spending because it affects their daily lives, from the taxes removed from their paychecks to the social needs of all citizens.
