<span>1)
-4x-8y=16
8x+16y=-16

Multiply fhe first equation by 2:

=> -8x - 16y = 32

Add this new equation with previous second equation

0 = 16, which means that the system has no solutions.

2)

4x-10y=-14
3x+8y=-26
</span>
Multiply the first equation by 3 and the second by - 4:

 12x - 30y =   - 42
-12x - 32y =   104

Add the two new equations
-------------------------
0 - 62y = 62

=> y = -1

replacing in the first equation:

=> <span> 4x-10(-1) = -14</span>

=> 4x + 10 = - 14

=> 4x = - 14 - 10

=> 4x = - 24

=> x = - 24 / 4

=> x = - 6

Answer: x = - 6 and y = - 1

A midsegment is given by the formula:
\frac{x1+x2}{2} , \frac{y1+y2}{2}

Where x1, x2, y1, and y2 correspond to their respective coordinates. We can do the equation:

\frac{-3+5}{2} , \frac{-1+3}{2}
This gets us a midpoint coordinate of <span>(1,1)

</span>As for distance, it will be found by doing:
\sqrt{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}
We can do the following:

\sqrt{(5-(-3))^2+(3-(-1))^2}
\sqrt{(8)^2+(4)^2}
\sqrt{64+16}
This simplifies to 4 \sqrt{5}

A Ferris wheel has a diameter of 56 ft. how far will a rider travel during a 4-minute ride if the wheel rotates once every 20 se
Luba_88 [7]
First calculate the circumference. Usually this is the diameter times pi, but since we are told to estimate pi, the circumference equals 56 * 22/7 or 176 feet.
In 4 minutes, 4 * 60 = 240 seconds pass. In this time, a 20 second period will occur 240/20 = 12 times.
So we know that the rider rotates 12 times and each rotation takes them 176 feet, meaning that they will travel 12 * 176 =  2112 feet

Can someone please help me answer this
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

1) a = 1.6          2) f = 0.53

Step-by-step explanation:

1) 6a = 10                      2) 48 = 90f

6a/6 = 10/6                       90f/90 = 48/90

a = 1.6                                f = 0.53

sorry i could only do the first two, i think those are right
