Describe two reasons why geneticists have reevaluated their traditional view that one gene codes for one polypeptide
Nadya [2.5K]
For a long period of time, geneticists believed that one gene codes for one polypeptide. This hypothesis has been re-evaluated for two reasons. Firstly, some genes do not encode polypeptides, but functional RNA molecules. Secondly, due to the phenomenon of alternative splicing, some genes can encode several similar but not identical polypeptides. This phenomenon is present only in eukaryotes and it is based the fact that different parts of some genes can be used during gene expression.

Explain the effects of the filibuster period
Lynna [10]
Well if a member of the Senate decides that they are dedicated to a bill but it has already been decided that it will be killed, they can take the floor and talk, and talk, and talk, and talk, to delay the vote to kill the bill. This way, they can get their ideas out about why the bill should live AND no one else can take the floor from them to continue the process. Sometimes after a filibuster takes place, the Senate will change its mind, but most times it is simply a time waster.
