So here is what we have

12 is what we need

out of the 84 we have

so...

12/84= .1428571429

and lets check our work

.1428571429 X 84 = 12

now lets convert it to a percent

.1428571429 X 100 = 14.28571429%

so the answer is

14.28571429%

12 divided by 84=0.1428. Now 0.1428 times 100% 0.1428X100= 14.28 round up so answer is 14.3%

Solve the simultaneous equations x - 5y = 0 and 15x + 10y = 17
Montano1993 [528]
X - 5y = 0 (1)
15x + 10y = 17 (2)

From (1),
2x - 10y = 0 (3)

(2) + (3),
17x = 17
x= 1

Sub x=1 into (1)
x - 5y = 0
- 5y = -1
y = 1/5

Therefore x = 1, y = 1/5.

Hope it helps : )

Two shops rent pairs of skis for a rental fee plus a fee per hour. Write and solve an equation to
Mariana [72]

For the total costs to be the same a pair of skis must be rented for 3 hours.

Two shops rent pairs of skis for a rental fee plus a fee per hour.

Let, the number of hours must a pair of skis be rented = x

Equation for Shop A,

3 + 9x                                                         equation 1

Equation for Shop B,

9 + 6x                                                         equation 2

Total cost for Shop A and Shop B is same so we can equate equation 1 and equation 2 as mentioned below:

3 + 9x = 9 + 6x

3x = 6

x = 3

Thus we can write,  for the total costs to be the same a pair of skis be rented for 3 hours.
