No because what determines a childs genotypes are the 26 chromosomes in both the egg and sperm cell (13 in each) so unless you clone both an egg and sperm cell and use the clones then you can get identical looking children but there is a low chance that they will be identical or similar in personality

Students interested int the development of plants designed an experiment to test germination in different types of seeds. They p
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer a)

The students should only have changed one variable to test for germination of seeds. They should have just changed the seed types and rest all factors like temp, pH should be kept constant for all of them.

Answer b)

The procedure could be changed as follows. The students should place three of each types of seeds in the petri dish. They should keep all the conditions like nutrients, temperature, pH constant for all the three dishes. After this observations should be made to check which seed germinates faster.

Multiple Choice
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

11B (reproduce). 12C (be eaten). 13A (variation). 14C (better adapted). 15C (Darwin). 16A (evolved). 17C (competition).

Explanation:

11 - The key principle underlying evolution by natural selection is that traits are only passed on if the organism survives long enough to reporduce. An adaptation that increases its likelihood of survival will therefore increase the chance it will reproduce.

12 - Deer rely on their brown fur to remain camouflaged in the forest so that predators can't see them. A white deer will stand out and will be seen by predators and eaten.

13 - This is the definition of variation. The variation becomes an adaptation if it actually benefits the organism in some way in its environment. A variation could also be neutral (doesn't affect the organism) or deleterious (bad).

14 - See previous question.

15 - Darwin developed the theory.

16 - This is describing the process of evolution.

17 - This is an example of competition.

There are______different possible combination of the four nitrogen bases taken three at a time
Alika [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

By controlling the synthesis of enzymes, DNA controls the functioning of the cell. Of the four different bases taken three at a time, there are 43, or 64, possible combinations. The meaning of each of these combinations, or codons, is known. Most of them represent one of the 20 particular amino acids found in protein.

A primary transcript (immature, non-processed) single-stranded RNA molecule has the following nucleotide composition: 30% A, 20%
Viefleur [7K]

Answer: The nucleotide composition of the double-stranded DNA molecule from which it was transcribed is 30% T, 20% C, 24% G, and 26% A.

Explanation: RNA is transcribed from DNA in the process of transcription. The single stranded RNA is complementary to the DNA template strand. In DNA base pairing, adenine pairs with thymine while guanine pairs with cytosine, this means that in a double-stranded DNA molecule, the total number of adenine is equal to the number of thymine while the total number of guanine is equal to the total number of cytosine.

In RNA, adenine pairs with thymine, guanine pairs with cytosine while uracil pairs with adenine. This means that the total number of thymine on the DNA template strand is equal to the total number of adenine on the RNA strand, the total number of guanine on the DNA template strand is equal to the total number of cytosine on the RNA strand, the total number of adenine on the DNA template strand is equal to the total number of uracil on the RNA strand while the total number of cytosine on the DNA template strand is equal to the total number of guanine on the RNA strand.

RNA strand = DNA strand

30% A = 30% T

20% G = 20% C

24% C = 24% G

26% U = 26% A

Explain how micro evolution of migration can affect an ecosystem
artcher [175]
In the ecosystems of the world, there are many evolutionary finds that scientist have been exploring for centuries. In the marine ecosystem, plankton are a form of microevolution. They also migrate, known as vertical migration. This can affect the ecosystem in that during this migration, the heterotrophs consume various micro-organisms.
