Flowers retain sunlight for energy as humans retain food for energy. In a sense, sunlight is a flower's food. This is through a process called "photosynthesis." Photosynthesis takes place in the petals/leaves if a flower. Elevating a flower will more than likely increase the probability that said flower will reduce more sunlight. I hope this helped !

The ocean is the largest reservoir of carbon on Earth. Which of the following would most likely store carbon for the longest amo
Leviafan [203]

Answer: Calcium carbonate shells of marine organisms, like coral, oysters, and clams.

Explanation:

Carbon dioxide in the gaseous form is absorbed from the atmosphere into the oceanic waters. The carbon dioxide is generated due to human activity like burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and by other activities. This increases the acidity of the oceanic waters, it affects the reef building in animals. The animals use the carbon dioxide to produce calcium carbonate structures that are used for building up the coral reefs and exoskeleton like shells of oysters and clams. This way carbon dioxide become an important component in the structure of the living organisms in the ocean. This way carbon dioxide get stored in the structures of marine organisms being the largest reservoir of carbon dioxide.

The cross between two plants of heterozygous genotype i.e. two pink-coloured flowers will result in progeny/ offsprings having one of each color (white, red and pink).

Parents.... RW × RW

↓ ↓

Gametes... R, W R, W

Inbreeding...

Progeny.... RR, RW, WW, RW

Hence, 50% of the offsprings will be pink coloured, 25% will be of red color and another 25% will be white color.

What is the purpose of chloroplasts?
katrin2010 [14]

Answer:

Chloroplasts are the food producers of the cell. They are only found in plant cells and some protists. Animal cells do not have chloroplasts. Every green plant you see is working to convert the energy of the sun into sugars. Plants are the basis of all life on Earth. They create sugars, and the byproduct of that process is the oxygen that we breathe. That process happens in the chloroplast. Mitochondria work in the opposite direction and break down the sugars and nutrients that the cell receives.
