The role of the effector(s) that result in a short-term cellular change in a changing the activation state of an enzyme going from inact to act this happens for instance when activating an enzyme to increase sugar metabolism while Long-term cellular changes are generally the result of changes in DNA transcription, i.e. a protein can be made to begin cellular replication by activating the cell cycle.

Activating a transcription factor can simply cause a long-term cellular change because of the changes in the DNA transcription. One must first look carefully at what the DNA means and its transcription.

<h2>Further Explanation</h2>

DNA is a type of molecule that is made up of two chains. These chains coil around each other. The purpose of this is to ensure that the DNA forms a two-times helix that carries a genetic instruction code that will enable it to function, grow and develop and reproduce all known organisms and viruses. DNA means Deoxyribonucleic Acid.

To begin the transcription, the information inside the DNA is transferred or copied into a new molecule called the RNA.

When the RNA polymerase enzymes and protein factors (accessory protein) carry out the transcription, we call that a DNA transcription. Activating this transcription factor can result in two cellular changes. There can be short-term cellular change or long-term change.

The long term cellular change takes place if there are changes in the gene or DNA transcription. For the changes to have occurred, the accessory protein had begun cellular replication, and the purpose of that is to activate the cell cycle as opposed to the short term changes.

The short term cellular changes occur when there is a change in the activation state of the polymerase enzymes, a changing from the dormant to an active state
